The premise that has steadily defined Carolina Convers’ artistic journey is “to challenge the academic concept of the need for a specific medium in the plastic arts.”In Contained Reflections, the internationally renowned artist further explores this concept by using the gallery space itself as the medium through which photography, paint, and engraving are presented outside of their conventional contexts. In doing this, Convers’ art encourages reflection on the nature of plastic art in general and attempts to create a unique kind of wonderland inside the gallery space.
