Vintage Jazz from the '20s to '40sA song’s lyric, tune and era create a person, with all the desires and quirks of anyone you know… Dropped into a bar on a Saturday night, some would be hooking up, some drinking heavily, some fighting in the back alley. Drawing on the rich tapestry of jazz music from the Prohibition era to present, Cara has captured some of these song pairings for her upcoming album.
In a voice where silk meets smoke, she will be singing them at Martuni’s on March 30, 7-8:30pm. Vamping with two great musicians : Tom Disher, an Emmy award winning composer and pianist, and Chris Amberger, a swinging bass player who toured Europe with Art Blakey and the Jazz Messengers, and toured the US with Rosemary Clooney.
