Description
California Telecaster Summit at Cafe DuNord features four top guitar player-driven bands from Northern and Southern California, all disciples of the twangy tone that Leo built: Jesse Jay Harris (of Rancho Deluxe -Los Angeles)77 El Deora (Maurice Tani -San Francisco)East Bay Grease (Michael Montalto of Red Meat -Oakland) Merle Jagger (Mark Christian -Los Angeles). The Fender Telecaster is more than simply the world's oldest, continuously produced solid body electric guitar. It is also much more than one of the most ubiquitous instruments developed in the past 100 years, playing a major role in the development of modern country, electric blues, funk, rock and every form of popular music. The Tele is a cultural icon, virtually unchanged from its inception in Leo Fender's Fullerton, California workshop way back in 1949, and yet it continues to be found in the hands of each new generation of musicians creating new music.
All the sets are short this evening. Doors at 8:00 pm. Show at 9:00 pm. $10 cover. Don't miss this one! Get there early and see for yourself.
