The California Pops Orchestra returns with a Variety Show featuring the biggest hits from Gershwin, Porter and Berlin. Led by Maestro Kim Venaas, the Pops are the nation's only all-request orchestra, meaning that you can always expect them to bring fun, family-friendly shows that run the gamut from Broadway hits to jazz to beloved Hollywood scores. But don't be fooled by the playful facade - the Pops features many of the Bay Area's leading musicians who have studied at such distinguished conservatories as Julliard and Oberlin.Through their annual concert series, they seek to preserve an American musical heritage that is slipping away all too quickly.
