This Sunday, August 31, is the second annual Berkeley Burning Boogie! For those of us not going to Burning Man, let's bring some of the vibe to our local dance community. Dress up - fuzzy, freaky, sexy, silly - and light up (toys, that is) and we'll have a Boogie-style Black Rock party of our own! Dance to a wide variety of great music -- world, funk, soul, house, positive hip-hop, electronica, blues and beyond -- in a casual, creative, community-oriented environment.Boogie happens every Sunday in Berkeley at 2525 8th Street at Dwight, with plenty of street parking. The hours are 7:30-11 pm, $8-15 sliding scale, first-timers $5. Smoke-free, alcohol-free, drug-free, scent-free, and ear-friendly; non-marking dance shoes are welcome on the beautiful new bamboo floor.
