Description

This class explores the Buddhist concept of Refuge and demonstrates how Refuge can provide the western student with a method for addressing and understanding the sense of personal isolation that is at the heart of many psychological imbalances in the west. The student is introduced to samatha meditation techniques and writings from many different schools of Buddhism. Several key concepts in Buddhism are explored, these include The Three Jewels (Buddha, Dharma, Sangha), The Four Noble Truths, Impermanence, Interdependent arising, and Karma.
