Daz-I-Kue is a musical visionary who has never been afraid to blur and cross the barriers between different musical genres, rhythms and sounds. He began DJing at the age of 14 and soon ventured into music production, gaining international fame as a member of the world respected production crew Bugz In The Attic. He is widely seen as one of the major pioneers in the broken beat genre, with it's staggered, syncopated beats, mixing elements of jazz, hip-hop, house, and funk. As a DJ and promoter, Daz-I-Kue has achieved major success with club nights such as Uprock’s Jazz Refreshed, the highly acclaimed Co-Op party, and global events like The Godfather (a James Brown tribute jam).A life long vinyl junkie with a collection spanning all musical genres, Daz-I-Kue's eclectic taste has inspired remixes and edits of tracks by artists such as Macy Gray, Soul II Soul, 4 Hero, Fela Kuti, and Gil Scott-Heron. His productions have been featured on numerous albums and compilations, receiving positive accolades from the industry's top tastemakers. Considered to be one of the hardest working man in the bizz, Daz is no stranger to Brazilian music either, as he has remixed tracks by Brazilian music legends Marcos Valle, and Antonio Adolfo. On Saturday, March 9th, Daz-I-Kue will make a special appearance at the BRAZA! party in San Francisco to play an exclusive all Brazilian flavored DJ set!
BRAZA! is now in its 4th year of showcasing local and international talent in Brazilian club music, and San Francisco has never seen so many abundant headliners playing the sounds of Samba, Funk, Batucada, Broken Beat, Hip Hop, Forró, House, Boogie, Jazz, and Bossa Nova. Every 2nd Saturday of the month, The BRAZA! crew provides a unique club experience for a diverse and enthusiastic crowd, that rejoices in hearing something a little different, and keeps coming back for more, every time!
