Ping Pong Gallery is pleased to present Branden Koch’s first solo exhibition with the gallery entitled Valet.Branden Koch uses painting to mine a conflicted and immense cultural landscape; unveiling a profoundly visceral world where personal experiences, such as dreams, the physical architecture of the artist’s studio, and the gamut of art history all collapse into a technicolor lexicon of unlikely and humorous relations. For his fifth solo show Koch will display eight new oil paintings as an interactive tableaux provoking the viewer's curiosity and involvement. Koch's paintings are raw and scrappy, intentionally imbued with a slow vibrant honesty. Distorted images of friends and lovers, self-portraits and fields of shattered and stained color dissolve and rearrange fleeting moments of looking and being. Simultaneously familiar and alien, Koch's work aimsto confront the contemporary trends and dogmas of interpretation, resisting and yet retaining a distinct life of its own.
