Description
The first EP that Bonnie and the Bang Bang sent out into the world, 2012's Ode To Darkness, had an almost campfire intimacy to it—dark, indie-folk music with a tactile, Americana sensibility. The group, which hails from all over the Bay Area, has been working hard on their upcoming LP, Distance, which has the band incorporating more electric guitar and a bit more straight-up rock & roll, as evidenced on the new track, "Every New Love." It's a lush, emotional, tune with mournful, electric slide guitar and a propulsive tambourine-driven beat. Lead singer Patrick Stiles is really coming into his own as an emotive singer who puts it all out there. Local blues-rock outfit 37th Parallel share the bill. (Aaron Carnes)
