Brought to you by Uncorked Events, SOMA’s Sloane Squared will host the first ever Bold Beers & Crafty Cocktails event on April 11, 2012 from 6:30-9-30pm (VIP entry at 6pm). Educational at heart, the festival explores over 75 of the world’s finest craft beers from 25 breweries & artisan cocktails from top Bay Area mixologists.

While there aren't any velvet ropes to bypass, VIP status will grant you an extra 1/2-hour of exclusive tasting starting at 6pm. During this time, each brewery will feature one or two special brews that are brewery-only or limited edition.

Sloane Squared is subtly stunning, artfully blending lightwoods, industrial metal, and polished concrete in a sprawling space complete with multiple mezzanine areas and sleek couches. Local favorite Stroke 9 will perform an acoustic show, blending their own hits with inspired and witty covers of hits from all genres. DJ Sol will be spinning between band sets, and there will also be a few local purveyors of artisan cheese and other assorted bites on hand. For rehydration, Smartwater will be available, too.

Angel’s Envy Bourbon (artisan Kentucky bourbon aged in port casks), Blackwell’s Fine Jamaican Rum (small production ‘black gold’), Encanto Pisco (awarded world’s best pisco), FAIR Vodka (ultra-premium French spirits utilizing fair trade ingredients), G’Vine Gin (grape flower gin from France), Hornitos Plata Tequila (a classic), Junipero Gin (from SF’s Anchor Distilling), The King’s Ginger Liqueur (high-octane favorite of King Edward VII), Laphroaig Quarter Cask Scotch (a blast of smoke and peat from this renowned producer), Prévu Sparkling Liqueur (for something completely different), WhistlePig Straight Rye Whiskey (micro-production from Vermont) and Wodka Vodka (Polish for fun).
