BLVD returns home to shake up The Independent

Fresh off a tour of Fiji and Australia, BLVD returns to SF on Saturday, February 20th with special guests MiMOSa and Majitope. The concert will take place at the Independent and will feature lighting and stage design by B.A.S.S. In conjunction with Sunset Promotions, SF Station, The Confluence, and Another Planet Entertainment this should prove to be an epic evening.
BLVD's dance-infected indie sound is garnering an underground fan base across the US and abroad. After wrapping up their 5th studio album with producer Jeff Saltzman (The Killers, Fischerspooner, The Black Keys), BLVD continued their '09 blitz on the North American festival circuit with performances at Camp Bisco, Summer Meltdown, Shambhala, & Earthdance.

MIMOSa takes listeners on a journey through warm rhythmic sound-scapes, with melodies and vocal samples smoothly crafted to help navigate the sonic terrain. Using basslines inspired by hip-hop classics like Too Short and Dr. Dre, combined with deep psychedelic textures reminiscent of the downtempo and midtempo output by Tripper and Bluetech, MIMOSa blends the range of styles to create his own fresh take on the west coast sound.

Master of his uniquely cultivated brand of GardenHouse, Majitope conjures elements of Dub, Tech, Bass, Funk, Minimal and House with grand overtone influences of Jazz, Space, Earth and Spirit.
