California Farmers’ Markets Association (CFMA), the non-profit organization who operates the market, has spent months exploring possible nearby alternative sites to find a new location for the farmers who have already committed to grow their crops this year for their loyal customers. The move to the VTA park’n’ride lot at Ohlone and Chynoweth will be a welcome relief to the many shoppers who have been anticipating the return of their favorite small family farmers. Doug Hayden, President of CFMA, said “The (VTA) is a wonderful host. There will be plenty of free parking and provides great local access via light rail. We are looking forward to the bountiful summer harvest of cherries, fresh berries, apricots, peaches, nectarines, coastal lettuce mix, asparagus, organic vegetables, grass-fed beef and the addition some new food purveyors.”More Info
