THE WHITE LIARS--Sophie Lemberg is a fortune teller and a baroness of the Holy Roman Empire--or is she? This third-rate eccentric, disillusioned German fortune teller, in a third-rate English seaside resort, is visited by the lead singer of a rock band and his business manager, who both want their fortunes told. The Svengali-like manager bribes Sophie to "predict" a horrible future for the rock singer, who is getting "too close" to his girlfriend. Things are not what they seem to be, and their lives turn out to be much stranger than the fiction Sophie tries to create in her crystal ball!
