“... one of the pivotal figures in jazz-rock...” – Variety Magazine
Drummer Billy Cobham celebrates the 40th anniversary of Spectrum, his landmark recording debut as a bandleader. Now considered a jazz/fusion classic, the album showcases Cobham's talents as an innovative drummer with a distinctive sound. A former back-up musician for Horace Silver, Miles Davis and John McLaughlin’s Mahavishnu Orchestra, Cobham's high-energy drumming puts him in the spotlight, attracting fans of jazz and rock alike. For this special tour, he recruited fellow Mahavishnu compatriot Jerry Goodman (violin) along with long-time cohorts Dean Brown (guitar), Gary Husband (keyboards) and Ric Fierabracci (bass).
