Description
“Beyond Gaga”A juried sculpture exhibition
February 1 – March 9th
WORKS/SAN JOSE GALLERY 365 S. Market St., San Jose CA
Presented by the Pacific Rim Sculptors Group
A juried exhibition of sculpture and installation art that is fun and sexy, provocative and deliberately unsettling too. The performer Lady Gaga has made an impression on everyone. Shocking, awesome, sublime, and outrageous, her performances including music, dance, elaborate costumes and sets to rival any opera or theater are nothing short of spectacular. Inspired by her courage to speak her mind and dare to be wild, this exhibition is not a tribute or a theme show but a challenge to artists to push our imaginations to the edge and beyond. The show was curated by Lynne Todaro, a member of Pacific Rim Sculptors Group.
Open for First Friday Artwalk March 1st 7-10 pm, and Thurs, Fri and Sat. afternoons through March 9th.
Jurors: DeWitt Cheng & Lauren Baines
Lauren Baines is a curator, arts manager, dancer / choreographer, and arts educator. Baines works at Montalvo Arts Center as Project Manager for the Lucas Artists Residency Program
DeWitt Cheng Is a San Francisco art writer/critic for Art Ltd., Artillery, Art Voice, East Bay Monthly, Huffington Post, Sculpture and DeWittCheng.com.
