The Namorados da Lua (moon lovers) is the newest Brazilian band in the Bay. They brings songs from various styles of music, such as reggae, jazz, pop and Brazilian rhythms like forro, samba and Axe music.Namorados da Lua is a blend of Brazilian and North American musicians. Danilo Portugal is the lead singer and composer of the band. He is a renowned artist in the Bay Area for his diverse musical talents. Additionally, he is a Capoeira professor and professional dancer. He was the King of San Francisco Carnaval in 2007.
Renan Damasceno, a talented musician, composer, guitar player and singer, comes from a family of artists also renowned in the Bay Area (The Damascenos). Renan recently relocated to the Bay Area from Brazil, and brought with him new musical trends from Brazil.
