Angels on Stage hosts sensory-friendly New Years Eve Party!
Attending a formal New Year’s Eve Party is undoubtedly a fun and stimulating experience for adults and children alike. However, at Angels on Stage (AoS), we understand that for some of our children with special needs, a party or event like this can be sensory overload and lead to high-stress or behavioral situations. Fortunately at AoS, a non-profit theatre troupe for children with special needs, we understand the needs to find a “sensory-friendly” and judgment-free environment to celebrate with families and friends who are on the same journey.

Due to the increasing interest in AoS and the community’s need for “safe” places that provide fun for the whole family, AoS has created events like our character breakfast and now we are hosting “Belle’s Ball”, a New Year’s Eve celebration, where your family can dress up, enjoy finger foods, music, fun activities, win prizes and ring in the new year. AoS will be performing Beauty and the Beast in March and in the spirit of their production they are inviting Belle to attend. She will be there to greet your child, take pictures and celebrate the New Year.

The event will be held December 31st from 7-10pm at St Justin’s School. At 9pm, we will watch the ball drop on the east coast and ring in the new year together, that way younger children who need to get home and rest don’t have to try to stay awake until midnight.

AoS has worked to provide a supportive environment staffed with special needs experts. They have also made adjustments to the event that are sensitive to our children with sensory or anxiety challenges. This judgment-free zone allows our children to get up, sing, dance, and shout, all activities that would be considered disruptive in other settings are welcomed at AoS.
