Somewhere between the dream and waking there is a place in the mountains where magic flows like spring water - mystik-folk, Americana, dub influenced, of course always Indie. Becky White & the Secret Mission bridge past present and future into one rEvolutionary love song.

Becky White & the Secret Mission are poets, mystics, singers of songs, and lovers of life. They are a voice of a new generation, inspired by hidden strains of ancient wisdom and prayers for an unwritten future.

The Secret Mission was formed in Oakland Ca in Jan. 2005 by Becky White - vocals & guitar, Chalo Jules - Bass & Vocals, Nathan Pundt – Drums.

Becky White & the Secret Mission feature original songs by Becky White and collaborative pieces with Chalo Jules and Nathan Pundt. Their first CD "Last Days of Empire" was released in September 2007 by Mystik Records. It was recorded in Tucson Az with Producer George Nardo (Velvet Underground, Heavy Medal Kids). "Last days of Empire" was mastered with George Horn at Fantasy Studios.

Since its inception the Secret Mission also includes special guest performers such as Osha Levgin, Amber Field on percussion (www.amberfield.com) and various vocalists and musicians.

When Becky White & the Secret Mission are not out on the road they live in Oakland and other wild places of the West.

Becky White grew up in Berkeley CA and New York City. The daughter of a writer, Becky has written poems since the time she learned to hold a pen.

She began playing her first instrument, the violin, at age 5. After years of classical training she played her first electric guitar at age 13. Her poetry began to weave into her music and her songs have a timeless mythic quality.

Her voice is both dreamy and elemental with uplifting original lyrics that reflect the raw beauty of the natural world. She has self published 3 original CDs and has been performing her whole life. She has played festivals, clubs and magical events around the US.

Becky White is a student of world music. She is inspired by the fusion of musical cultures and the healing power of music. She is a student of Made Terip of Desa Munduk in Bali Indonesia, Ali Akbar Khan of the Ali Akbar Khan College (www.aacm.org) and Sanskrit Master Dr. R.K. Sharma. Her songs often weave different languages and feature unique instruments.

Besides being a devoted musician, Becky White is a naturalist with a degree in conservation biology from Prescott College. She is a cofounder of the Oxygen Collective (www.o2collective.org). Her understanding of ecology informs her song-writing. Her grassroots activist background has inspired her to sing out for peace and justice in the middle of logging roads, on sacred native land in trees, and in the streets.

Chalo Jules, a native of the Caribbean island of St. Lucia ,plays bass for the Secret Mission. Chalo is a self taught musician who has been playing bass for 20+ years. He is also an accomplished songwriter, keyboardist, guitar player and vocalist. Chalo is also a song writer for the Secret Mission. He has also played in numerous bands and venues in the Bay Area and the Caribbean. He is featured in many recordings including the African roots band Talking Wood and other Bay Area projects.

Nathan Pundt plays drum kit for the Secret Mission. Nathan has played drums for the last 7+ years. Nathan is also an eco-artist, poet, and designer. Nathan has created many of the multi-media components of the Secret Mission performances as well as CD cover and promotional art.

Becky White & the Secret Mission are modern mystics, earth defenders, voices for a new time.
