Bay Area Left Bank Brasseries to Host Oyster & Sancerre Celebration of Spring

The Bay Area Left Bank Brasseries in Larkspur, San Jose and Menlo Park will host an Oysters & Sancerre celebration beginning on Monday, March 12 and continuing through Saturday, March 17. They will feature a choice of three Sancerre appellation wines offered in a flight of two ounce pours for $14.00 (also available by the bottle, carafe or glass) ideal for enjoying along with a plate of oysters on the half shell, or a selection of special a la carte menus items that will vary depending on the restaurant location. All regular a la carte lunch and dinner offerings will also be available.

This event affords Left Bank Brasserie guests the opportunity to celebrate the advent of spring with intriguing wines from the Loire Valley in France paired with seasonal classics including:

In Larkspur – a White Asparagus Salad with a Drakes Bay oyster vinaigrette, chopped egg, capers, cornichons and parsley ($10.95); and Marin Bay Oysters with curry sabayon and Bloomsdale spinach ($11.75).

In Santana Row in San Jose - Watercress Soup with white wine poached Pacific oysters ($11.25); and Hazelnut Crusted Fried Oysters with horseradish cream and pickled baby beets ($12.50).

In Menlo Park - Oyster and Artichoke soup with oyster beignets, artichoke chips and sorrel scented oil ($10.75); and Raw Oyster and Herring Tartare with horseradish cream sauce and beet salad ($11.50).

All three locations will be pouring Domaine Ricard 2010 Sauvignon Blanc, Domaine Daulny 2010 Sancerre, and Francis Blanchet 2010 Pouilly-Fumé ($42.00, $49.00 or $56.00 per bottle, $30.00, $35.00 or $40.00 per carafe, $12.00, $14.00 or $16.00 per glass).
