Description

Can planning a bank robbery really pay off? Yes, it can. The Center for Tactical Magic is offering $1000 to the best bank robbery proposal. The Bank Heist Contest is a participatory cultural endeavor designed to re-visit the romantic representation of bank robbers in relation to the current economic and social crises, including: income disparity, unemployment, housing foreclosures, federal bailouts, the LIBOR scandal, and a wealth of other egregious economic indicators. Proposals for bank heists are due at Southern Exposure on January 31, 2013 at high noon. Proposals will be judged by an expert on banking security, author and former bank robber Joe Loya, and representatives from the Center for Tactical Magic and Southern Exposure. A winning proposal will be chosen based on the proposals’ conceptual vision, presentation, feasibility, and creativity and announced on March 1, 2013.
