Backyard beekeeping supports abundant native and medicinal plant populations, provides nutritious and medicinal honey, provides pollination for food, fruit trees and berries and creates deep contentment in a healing partnership with Nature. Add backyard beekeeping to your suburban homestead or permaculture site and help restore the genetic resilience of the LOCALLY ACCLIMATED HONEY BEE and the strength and purity of our LOCAL FOOD SHEDS!

This local informative and experiential class will help you assess whether Backyard Beekeeping is for you and how to get started in Ecological Organic Backyard Beekeeping. We teach only a holistic eco-systemic - Work With Nature- approach and DO Not perpetuate the destructive commercial beekeeping philosophy and practices in the backyard. You will learn the regenerative beyond sustainable honey bee ecology and hive culture, basic handling safety and hive management, what where and how of tools, where to get bees and easy installation and best of all how to harvest honey inexpensively.

Bring a bag lunch for the 5 hour day and lots of water and hat for outside. Also bring a notepad. You will be able to handle all the equipment and components of the hive except the live bees. Honey tasting too!

This awesome workshop is taught by Palika - A Bee Steward and Guardian for over a decade and has been lauded by many new beekeepers in town for its deep complete friendly information and know how. Whether you want to actively become a Guardian or just host a honey bee colony on your property, this class is for you!
