On Saturday, December 1, Babylon Salon's Winter Reading features prize-winning writers NAMWALI SERPELL and WESLEY GIBSON. Serpell's fiction has appeared in The Caine Prize Anthology 2010, Best American Short Stories 2009, Tin House, Callaloo, and The Believer. She received a Rona Jaffe Foundation award and teaches English at UC Berkeley. Gibson is the author of You Are Here: A Memoir of Arrival and the novels Shelter and Personal Saviors. His work has been published in The Village Voice, the Mississippi Review, and elsewhere. He is an editor at Bloom literary journal and on the faculty of theSt. Mary's College MFA Program. Additional performances by Michael David Lukas, author of The Oracle of Stamboul, Valerie Fioravanti, whose short story collection, Garbage Night at the Opera, won the 2011 G.S.
