Description

The Babar Jug Band originated in the SF Mission District in the early 1980s. The music has expanded over the years to include folk, blues, calypso, reggae, Motown, bluegrass to country and original compositions. Babar Jug Band is recognized as one of the longest active playing Jug Bands in California.

The Babar Jug Band combines down-home vitality with nuanced musicianship playing a range of instruments including; guitar, bass, auto harp, washboard, accordion, mandolin, violin, harmonica, percussion and whiskey jugs.

The Band's has played at the Fillmore, Paradise Lounge, Tosca's Cafe, Molloy's Traven, SOMA Cafe, and CJBA shows in Freight and Salvage, GG Park, McLaren Park
