Description
African super-group Kotoja is comprised of a heady mix of top Nigerian and American musicians that has excited audiences with their infectious mix of African highlife, juju, jazz, and world music. Beloved bandleader Babá Ken is known for his work with King Sunny Ade and Fela Anikulapo Kuti, and the seminal Afro-rock group Monomono.The 2014 Yerba Buena Gardens Festival at Yerba Buena Gardens in downtown San Francisco runs May 4 through October 26, 2014 and presents over 90 free events including music, theater, circus, dance, poetry, festivals and children’s programs with artists from Africa, Japan, Mexico, Cuba, Brazil, the Philippines, Sweden, China, Venezuela and the Bay Area. This year’s Festival features events at Jessie Square with poetry, dance workshops and salsa dancing. Yerba Buena Gardens is located between Mission Street and Howard Street and 3rd and 4th Streets in downtown San Francisco.
