Description
AXIS Dance Company will present a new site-specific work, choreographed by Sonsheree Giles, utilizing the ramps and various spaces of Yerba Buena Gardens to connect art and landscape, accompanied by live music composed by Caroline Penwarden. AXIS’ innovative ensemble of dancers with and without disabilities is a jewel of contemporary dance and disability culture. Commissioned by YBGF.The Yerba Buena Gardens Festival presents over 90 free events including music, theater, circus, dance, poetry and children’s programs with artists from Africa, Colombia, Japan, Puerto Rico, Cuba, Spain, the Philippines, Sweden, China, Venezuela and the Bay Area. Yerba Buena Gardens is located between Mission Street and Howard Street and 3rd and 4th Streets in downtown San Francisco.
