Description
Sound Tribe Sector 9, also known as STS9, is an instrumental band whose sound is based heavily on instrumental rock and electronic music, funk, jazz, drum and bass, psychedelia and hip hop elements. Founded in 1998, STS9 describes their unique sound as "post-rock dance music", mixing standard live rock instrumentation with electronics, favoring group rhythm over individual solos. Since their inception, they have released 11 albums, toured nationally and internationally, and have opened for such acts as Snoop Dogg, Bassnectar, Ghostland Observatory, The Glitch Mob, Thievery Corporation and many more.
