Description
Children’s author/illustrator Yuyi Morales will discuss her award-winning books—Just a Minute: a Trickster Tale and Counting Book (2004) and Los Gatos Black on Halloween (2008)—in the context of the popular Latino tradition, Día de los Muertos (Day of the Dead). Children of all ages and their families are invited to attend and participate in a related craft activity. Admission is free. The program relates to the goal of the annual Pura Belpré Illustrator Award and Author Awards, which honor Latino authors and illustrators whose work best portrays, affirms and celebrates the Latino cultural experience in children's books.
