Description

Visual storyteller Asuka Ohsawa creates drawings, printed ephemera, and textile works that mine the wonders and worries of her world. Her graphic narratives fuse elements of pop, manga, anime, and comics to reveal intertwined fairytales of bunnies, garden gnomes, unicorns, books, bicycles, acrobats, Gumby, and Bettie Page. Ohsawa is represented by Nancy Margolis Gallery, New York, and Massimo Carasi, Milan. She is currently completing her first year as assistant professor in printmaking at SFAI.
