The Black Rock Arts Foundation supports interactive art projects worldwide, year-round. In our eight years of collaborating with innovative artists, visionaries and community groups, we've seen first hand how interactive art can inspire civic engagement and social participation. In 2009 we awarded more money in grants than ever before and to more recipients. We supported projects like Cardboardia (cardboardia.info), a temporary role-playing town made of cardboard in Moscow, Russia, and Celtic Forest, by esteemed Burning Man Artist Laura Kimpton, in Reno, Nevada.

The work we support is diverse, innovative, impressive and inspiring, but all share a common goal: to include the community in the creation of a project that exists for and belongs to the public - a project that provokes immediate action, that connects with both individuals and the community at large.
