Description

Each day from 3:30 p.m. until 4 p.m., a free panel discussion on art, recovery, and stigma reduction will include “Marin Mind/Scapes: Stories of Art, Nature, and Wellness” producer Marilyn Geary of Circle of Life Stories, Steve Ramsland, executive director of Buckelew Programs and Marin/Scapes Artist Sherrill Miller who has lead art classes with Buckelew clients.

The Marin Mind/Scapes video documentary, showing from Noon – 6pm (free) at Escalle Inn is adjacent to the annual Marin/Scapes Art Show & Sale ($15). It is the first video in the Marin County Free Library’s Anne T. Kent California Room oral history collection and features the stories of 11 local artists, many of whom are Marin/Scapes artists as well as current or former Buckelew clients. Several pieces of artwork by the featured artists will also be on display. The video was produced by Laurie Thompson and Marilyn Longinotte Geary.

The Marin Mind/Scapes project is made possible, in part, by a grant from the California Council for the Humanities. The Council is an independent non-profit organization and a state affiliate of the National Endowment for the Humanities. For more information on the Council, visit http://www.calhum.org. Marin Mind/Scapes has also been partially funded by NAMI-Marin, the Marin County affiliate of the National Alliance on Mental Illness.
