In the song "The Disastrous Course" L.A. emo pop-rocker Arison Cain says that "[he] will rebel until there's nothing left of [himself]." It's this sort of wry pessimism, humor and anger that permeates throughout his music. As a singer-like Say Anything's Max Bemis-he straddles a line between classic rock squealing and detached bitter sarcasm. His music is similar: Big heavy rock anthems with infectious hooks, but there's always a certain tongue-in-cheek awareness with every note he plays. (Amulya Datla)
