After graduation, he took the New York scene by storm, working with a cast of greats including Pat Metheny, Chick Corea, Paquito D’Rivera and Danilo Perez. Sanchez’s innovative approach to both modern jazz and contemporary Latin percussion make him a coveted commodity in both camps. He’s in finest form at the helm of this group, which features an unparalleled saxophone frontline comprised of David Binney and (Santa Cruz native) Donny McCaslin, and long-time collaborator Scott Colley (bass) backing.
