Description
Leo Eylar, one of the finalists for the position of Music Director, will guest conduct "An Exotic Musical Journey," in a program that features piano soloist Misha Galant.Leo Eylar has been Conductor and Music Director of the California Youth Symphony since 1990. This year marks his retirement after 30 years as professor and conductor at Sacramento State University. He has chosen works for an evening of exoticism and fairy tale wonder with music from Humperdinck's beloved opera Hansel and Gretel, the rarely performed Symphony no. 1 by Anton Arensky, and the "Egyptian" Piano Concerto (No. 5) by Saint-Saens with award-winning young piano virtuoso Misha Galant.
