Please join the San Francisco Zen Center for a very special evening as performance artist, composer and musician Laurie Anderson joins San Francisco Zen Center's Senior Dharma Teacher Tenshin Reb Anderson for a one-on-one talk to discuss art, life, Zen, and the inspiration that is Hope Cottage. Tenshin Reb Anderson will conduct a brief Q&A to conclude the event, and a meet n greet will take place following the conversation for attendees purchasing $125 tickets. The event will take place on Thursday, March 15, 2012 at 142 Throckmorton Theater in Mill Valley, CA. This year, San Francisco Zen Center celebrates its 50th Anniversary as a seminal non-profit organization. Shunryu Suzuki Roshi (author of the modern spiritual classic Zen Mind, Beginner's Mind) founded SFZC in 1962, and it has since grown to become one the largest Buddhist sanghas (communities) outside of Asia.Hope Cottage is a much beloved place of refuge and retreat at San Francisco Zen Center's Green Gulch Farm in Marin County, and it is in desperate need of repair. Proceeds from the evening will help raise funds for a new roof as well as other renovations.
