Description
Since the mid '90s, Ben Harper has bounced between genres--moving adeptly from blues to reggae to pop to rock to folk--all with a reasonable amount of success. One of his biggest hits, 1994's “Forever,” is an intimate acoustic tune that still holds up today. This Sunday at the Mountain Winery, Harper returns to "Forever" form with a solo acoustic show. One of the great things about his solo work is that it gives him the space to demonstrate his prowess on the guitar. He's not flashy, but without a band backing him, the diversity of his skills are really apparent. Plus, the sparse instrumentation allows him to showcase his soulful voice. (Aaron Carnes)
