Description

It is a secret few dare admit - Americans now face one of the most daunting concentrations of economic power in at least a century. While monopolies of the past mainly dominated the manufacturing sector, those of today have also captured control over farming and retailing. And their power is hugely amplified by new information technologies and globalization. Capturing the attention of governments from Washington to Berlin to Beijing, Barry C. Lynn’s studies have focused on how this concentration can destabilize vital production systems across the globe. In his recent work, Lynn expands his analysis to detail the dangers economic concentration can also pose to our social, political, and economic balances. A long-time business journalist who has lived and worked around the world, Lynn has written for the Financial Times, Harvard Business Review, Harper’s, and the Washington Post, among others, and has appeared on CNN, MSNBC, FOX, CBS, the BBC, and NPR.
