Description

The Alphonse Berber Gallery, a new 4800 sq. ft. contemporary art gallery located directly across from the University of California campus and half a block away from the Berkeley Art Museum, is proud to present "New Nature," the inaugural exhibition. "New Nature" follows the work of twelve contemporary West Coast artists as they engage with and re-envision their relationship to the natural world through a wide spectrum of genres and mediums: from photography (Julia C.S. Davis), graphite on paper (Justin Margitich), and wood sculptures (Yvonne Mouser), to latex jewelry (Jessica Rosenkrantz), textiles (Laura Kramer), and the kinetic sculpture of Reuben Margolin, which has appeared at the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts, the Exploratorium, and Kinetica London, and was the subject of a recent episode of PBS's Make TV. Other artists include: Angela Crabtree, Emily Jan, Machine Histories, Molly McGrath, and Bethany Shorb.
