Description
Alphaville are living proof of the power of a pointed needle drop. Millennials will know the German synthpop band, even if they don't realize it. They're the ones responsible for "Forever Young," the gauzy, '80s slow jam that soundtracks the high school dance scene in Napoleon Dynamite. They are also known for another single--"Big in Japan." More than three decades on, Alphaville are still conjuring gothy electronic textures. The group's latest LP is titled Strange Attractor. It's an apt title for a band that's proven so adept at creating such oddly enchanting tunes.
