Description

Long known as the “unofficial” place to spend election night and enjoy craft beer on the San Mateo Coast, the Half Moon Bay Brewing Company will be hosting an official “Alection Night” viewing party on Tuesday, November 6 to watch the Presidential election. As you may know, The Brewing Company has been running their 2012 “Presidential Alection” campaign with Romney and Obama ales at the restaurant and will be announcing the winner that night.

Throughout this campaign season, two Alection beers have been available for purchase at the Brewing Company and select specialty beer shops around the Bay Area, with one bottle featuring a blue label and a smiling Obama, and the other with a red label and a grinning Romney. All summer, The Brewing Company has been tallying the votes of beer-drinkers, and these results will be announced at 9 p.m. in the bar on “Alection Night,” where televisions will be showing the Presidential election live in the bar. There will also be a Happy Hour menu available from 4-7 p.m. and complementary appetizers from Chef Gaston Alfaro fro 5-7 p.m.
In the 2008 Alection, the Brewing Company’s first Obama Ale beat the McCain Ale by four-to-one and ultimately predicted the eventual real-life champion. Results for 2012 will be posted on election day on the Half Moon Bay Brewing Company’s newly redesigned website, http://www.hmbbrewingco.com.
