Description

WHAT: A recent article written in The Washington Post stated that thousands of pets have been displaced from their owners due to the recent hurricanes, and are in need of new homes. In California, the numbers are similar due to the wildfires. Alameda Landing has teamed up with Hopalong Animal Rescue to help pets made homeless by Hurricane Irma and the California Wildfires find new forever homes. The center and Hopalong Animal Rescue will host a FREE “Don’t FURget About Us” pet adoption event, and Alameda Landing will pay the adoption fees. In addition, when customers make a donation to Hopalong Animal Rescue or show a receipt from any Alameda Landing stores or restaurants, they will receive a FREE Walk with Your Pet Flashlight with poopie bag holder. Hopalong Animal Rescue is also accepting donations including litter boxes, puppy food, dry kitten food, travel crates, cat and dog collars and pet toys. For more information about volunteering or donating, please click HERE.

All animals up for adoption come vaccinated and chipped, spayed and neutered. The event will also feature a pet play area so people can play with the animal and get to know them before adopting and booths by family-committed pet store, See Spot Run, and Happy Hound, a training, boarding and pet spa.

In addition, new pet owners are invited to show off their furry friends and strike a pose using the “Don’t FURget About Us” exclusive snapchat filter.
