Description

Wagner is a working artist and Fine Arts teacher at California College of Arts. She obtained an MFA from Mills College, and has shown extensively in galleries throughout California, including the Headlands Center for the Arts and DiRosa Preserve. She's had solo shows at galleries such as Blankspace Gallery and Don Soker Contemporary Art. This most recent body of work includes vibrant, dreamlike paintings and sculpture inspired by organic forms and nature.

In Wagner's words: "In this body of work, I have implied the most subtle nuances of action in the form of forgiveness and patience. The notion was convoluted from three basic interests: [eco-activist and author of Endgame] Derrick Jensen, the philosophical premise of alchemy, and my own desire to make the world a nicer place...The images and objects in this body of work are meant to be neither solid nor gaseous, neither subjective nor objective, but supremely transmutable. The solidity of a mountain subject to its conditions, an energetic field always present yet only detected by some, the ability to transform a jagged system into gentle curves by softly adapting and allowing space for its transformation."
