Description
This series of class focuses on a range of more esoteric studies in Buddhist thought. In them the student is introduced to Tibetan deity meditation techniques, the practices of transmuting the five poisons into the five wisdoms, deeper understandings of the kayas, the significance of dharma protectors and practices related to them and working with elements in the context of emotion. Special focus is on the psychological significance of the developing Bodhisattva. Several of the classes introduce the student to the world of tantra. Tantric practice is the catalytic and dynamic change processes that are at the heart of some of the deeper Buddhist practices.The practices presented in this program are specifically suited to the transformation of the imbalances in the psyche and help prepare the student to move to greater levels of realization and understanding about the nature of the self.
Prerequisites: Applied Buddhist Psychology I and II or by permission of the instructor.
