Description
Adrian Younge's love for '60s and '70s art and music first came to the public's attention when he edited and scored the music for 2009's hilarious faux-Blaxploitation film Black Dynamite. But before that, Younge recorded Venice Dawn, a soundtrack to a movie so faux that it literally never existed. Younge's blend of old school soul and trippy psychedelic sounds plays like a genre that should have existed in the summer of love, but, once again, never did. Few people heard this 2000 self-released album. Now twelve years later, Younge has taken pieces of Venice Dawn and expanded and grown it into his new Something About April. It sounds as fresh and bizarrely retro as ever. - Aaron Carnes sanjose.comMore Info
