Description
This coalition of women do the seemingly impossible in bringing to life much of the endless range of music that is born of the African continent. Led by Ivory Coast natives, singer/dancer Dobet Gnahore and vocalist/bassist Manu Gallo, the group draws inspiration not only from African genres, but funk, R&B and pop. They are joined by an all-star band that includes Cameroonian singer Kareyce Fotso and American guitarist Leni Stern. Together, the women create an exhilarating journey focusing on the richness of the African traditions of the voice and song.
