ABADÁ-Capoeira San Francisco (ACSF), the Bay Area's first non-profit organization dedicated to recovering, preserving, and promoting Afro-Brazilian culture, will celebrate its 23rd Batizado and Graduation Ceremony on October 12 from 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. at ACSF, 3221 22nd Street in San Francisco. The batizado and graduation ceremony will feature the traditional aspects of capoeira, including the initiation of new students. Highlights of the event include performances by visiting capoeristas from all over the world, including for the for the first time ever in San Francisco, Mestrando Montanha.

Mestrando Montanha has practiced capoeira since 1987, and is recognized for his achievements as a leader of and educator in capoeira. He lives and teaches classes for children, youth and adults in Porto Alegre, Brazil. Assisting Mestrando Montanho will be visiting female artist Professora Trilho of Sao Paulo, Brazil.
