Welcome to Taste!

Indulge in the cultural experience of tea making during an exclusive evening at Taste, an upscale tea lounge in the heart of Hayes Valley. We invite you to enjoy the ambiance of Taste with your own personal pot of tea with artfully selected, freshly made appetizers, while owners, Vincent and Rebecca Fung, personally demonstrate the nuances of the art of tea making while discussing the origins of tea. The event will begin with an exclusive introduction to the art of making tea. Next, each couple will be provided with a personal tea set for their enjoyment with the option of trying a variety of teas. Additional surprises will be included throughout the evening, so please join us for a delightful and relaxing experience!

Detailed Agenda (for each couple):

1) Two Types of Tea

First, learn how to use a teaware called Gaiwan to brew Dragonwell, a type of green tea from Zhejiang, China
Second, learn how to use a Yixing tea pot to brew Golden Eyebrow, a type of red tea from Fujian, China
Lastly, learn how to brew tea with your partner following the traditional Chinese Gong Fu Cha method (making tea with effort)
2) Food for tea pairing

Small Bites:

2 veggie curry buns
2 pork buns
2 red bean buns
Sweet Bites:

2 green tea macaroons
2 vanilla chocolate macaroons
+ a special surprise at the end!
