Description

Join YBCA for “A Night of Utopian Gestures,” a lively and interactive celebration of the exhibition Without Reality There Is No Utopia, currently on display at YBCA. The evening’s festivities and presentations include multi-media installations on social movements, politics, information dissemination and the power of media. Performers include the Israeli artist Dana Yahalomi, the leader of the “performative research” group Public Movement, which stages political actions in public spaces; Michael Swaine, one of the founding members of Futurefarmers; FEMA, an art collective appropriating the mission of a disaster management agency; Swap/Meet SF, an artists' exchange collective; and music by Snow Angels and Micropixies—a mixture of trip-hop, indie-pop, folk, and North Indian classical music. Special thanks to our beverage partner, New Belgium Brewing Company.
