Lewis Buzbee
Meet San Jose native Lewis Buzbee, author of the award-winning teenage mystery books Steinbeck’s Ghost and The Yellow-Lighted Bookshop. Buzbee’s newest adventure is The Haunting of Charles Dickens, an atmospheric ghost mystery set in Victorian London.

Tuesday:
Sankai Juku: Tobari
This enigmatic dance comprises seven tableaus depicting “the cosmos of life” in cycles of birth, death and rebirth. Sankai Juku describes Tobari (literally “curtain”) as: “Happiness and sadness, light and darkness, life and death – they all waver softly like a hanging cloth.”

Wednesday:
Moreno Gistain Piano Duo
Four hands are better than two. The Moreno Gistain Piano Duo is formed by brothers Juan Fernando and Jose Enrique Moreno Gistain. They’re performing a “Spanish Inspiration” program which includes several pieces originally written for symphony orchestra but transcribed for piano four hands.

Thursday:
CTRL+ALT+DEL
In Anthony Clarvoe’s new play, a young man pitches what seems to be a tantalizing but impossible concept: a miraculous “gizmo” that is part cell phone, part computer and highly addictive. Imagine that. But how would this magical new device respond to the three-finger salute?

Friday:
Oversocial Mofo Revue
The San Jose Poetry Slam is back as part of the Oversocial Mofo Revue. In addition to the high octane slam, this week’s revue features Oakland poetess Joyce Lee, the lush sounds of Veronica Malki, and San Francisco juggling wunderkind Bronkar Lee.
