Nicki Bluhm & The Gramblers
San Francisco singer-songwriter Nicki Bluhm released her debut album Toby's Song in Summer 2008. Recorded at Mission Bells Studio and Pacific Dust Studio in San Francisco, Toby’s Song earned rave reviews as “[An] amazing album...Nicki has tapped into the Country-Folk and Blues side of Rock music that came up in the west coast in the 1960's and 1970's with Laurel Canyon artists like CSN&Y, Joni Mitchell and The Byrds..." (Wiretap Online). Jambase put it alongside breakthrough releases by Dr. Dog and Fleet Foxes as one of the Top Debuts of 2008, calling it ”a pearlescent treasure kicked up from the sand.”

Named "Best World Band" by the North Bay Bohemian, Dgiin is an exciting
mixture of French-Gypsy-Funk with a twist of Django-esque Flamenco. Since
their inception eight years ago, the band has been creating quite a stir with their
memorable and energetic performances.
Dgiin's members are as diverse as their music and hail from France, El Salvador
and Ohio. Their music ranges from Paco de Lucia flamenco to Django Reinhardt
gypsy guitar with Tito Puente style salsa beats and unforgettable vocals.
Bobo Tempo is a band that brings energy and excitement to their music with original, cover and jam tunes that bring smiles to faces and dances to feet. Jeffrey Commons [ lead vocal and guitar], Perry Hooper [ guitar and vocals], Magi Barror [ keyboard, accordion, vibes and vocals], were formerly with the group "Music Club". Bass player Jerome Bohman also plays in the band "Just Friends". Brothers Tony and Sean Onorato [ percussion] spent many years touring in the band "Vinyl" , and also play in the band "Dub Squad". Lorenzo Ferlingetti , the regular drummer , will be in the Philippines, so joining the band will be Michael Pinkham formerly of the band "Albinos". The band does music in the style of reggae, funk, New Orleans, latin, rock and blues. If you like to dance, or even just like to tap your foot with a smile on your face, you will enjoy their music. Come early to Far West 2010 and catch Bobo Tempo!

The Far West Fest, the only festival of its kind in Marin County, has become a day synonymous with community. Now in our 5th year, we have enjoyed significant annual growth and evolution. We expect to host 2,000 West Marin, Regionally based, and traveling revelers in 2010.
FWF is a GREEN event with 100% recycling/ zero-waste, carbon offset options, and no plastic packaging on site. Food vendors are local purveyors of organic, sustainable offerings including oysters, fresh produce, grass-fed meats, and baked goods.
The festival hosts two stages, offering a lineup of blues, country, rock, folk, experimental, bluegrass and world music, internationally touring acts and local favorites. Past Far West Fest performers have included The Mother Hips, Camper Van Beethoven, New Monsoon, Hot Buttered Rum, Sambada, Poor Man’s Whiskey, Vinyl, Get Set Go!, HoneyDust, Hot Buttered Rum, Jerry Hannan, The Wronglers, Larkin Gayl, Tim Cain, Lyrics Born, Sean Hayes, Albino, Red Meat, The Green String Farm Band with Arann Harris, Chris Haugen, The Honey Dewdrops, and This Old Earthquake.
In addition to two music stages, the Far West Fest offers a supervised Kidz Zone that features interactive activities, healthful snacks, and kid-centric live music and storytellers. Clowns, jugglers, and other circus acts dot the landscape throughout the day.
Dozens of regional arts and crafts vendors line the periphery, and a “Localization Zone, sponsored by “Think Local First” offers area nonprofits an opportunity to interface and share their mission with the community.
FWF is a crucial fundraiser for area non-profits, including Home Base, KWMR Community Radio, and three area Non-profit preschools.
Home Base is the non-profit governing body of Love Field (home of West Marin Little League & the Redwood Empire Baseball League) serves West Marin with recreational commons, youth mentoring, and community gathering and open space.
KWMR Community Radio is recognized as a model for communities worldwide that struggle to create and sustain publicly owned airwaves. KWMR champions local and independent music and includes a roster of progressive and environmentally oriented, locally produced programming, local news, as well as engineering and production training programs for adults and youth. KWMR, “Homegrown Radio,” is listener supported, and sustained in part by events such as the Far West Fest.
More Community Partners Include:
The Environmental Action Committee (EAC), First 5 and Shoreline District School Readiness (Kidz Zone), Plastic-Free Point Reyes Nation, The Point Reyes Hostel, Waste Management, and The West Marin Citizen, The Coastal Health Alliance, Make It in West Marin (interactive workshops), The West Marin Lions Club, Think Local First: West Marin, The West Marin Chamber of Commerce, and The Dance Palace Community Center among others.
