Mantra is sound that has a secret and sacred vibration that unites people with the Divine in order to receive healing energy, courage, freedom, wisdom and blessings. Phoenix Rising is a powerful and transformational concert series that features the mystical mantric voice of singer, dancer, artist and author Yuan Miao and the resonant chanting of Lama Norbu, a classically trained Geshe Lama. The unprecedented pairing on stage of these two extraordinary individuals creates an atmosphere whereby the healing power of sound can penetrate to the very core of your being. Their enchanting smiles and childlike playfulness reminds us of the practical importance of living each precious moment with joy in our hearts. Also featuring Geoffrey Gordon of Larkspur on percussion, Mark Deutsch of Oakland on bazantar (an instrument he invented), Kit Walker of Olema on Keyboards and Grammy nominated jazz and rock guitarist, Joaquin Lievano.
